At Dragonfly Farm, our horses are more than just partners in sport—they are teachers, healers, and lifelong friends. Each one has a story, a personality, and a gift to share with those who take the time to listen. From our steady schoolmasters who guide beginners with patience to our talented athletes who challenge experienced riders to grow, every horse in our barn is here for a reason. They are the heart of our farm, and we are honored to care for them, learn from them, and share them with you. Whether you are stepping into the stirrup for the first time or chasing big dreams in the show ring, our horses will meet you where you are and take you where you are meant to go.
Volcano isn’t just a talented athlete—he’s a total showman. He loves the spotlight, thrives on attention, and fully expects to be the center of admiration wherever he goes. If there’s a crowd, he’s performing. He soaks up every cheer, every pat, and especially every treat. Whether he’s in the ring or just hanging out in the barn, he carries himself like a true champion, always ready for his next moment to shine.
Volcano is everything you want in a top show horse—athletic, sharp, and fiercely competitive. With incredible reflexes and a love for the game, he has competed up to 1.35m in the Grand Prix ring and knows his job inside and out. Personally owned by the Legroulx Family, he has been an incredible teacher for many of our top riders, giving them the feel and experience to step up to the bigger tracks. Always one to turn heads, Volcano thrives on attention and knows he’s something special—because, let’s be honest, he is.

Despite his refined presence in the show ring, Milan is a total goofball in the barn. As the biggest horse at Dragonfly, it’s only fitting that he belongs to our smallest rider—though he seems completely unaware of his size. He loves to play, whether it’s shredding his blankets or finding creative ways to entertain himself. But the moment he steps into the ring, it’s all business. His simple elegance and effortless way of going make him born for the spotlight, and you’d never guess the playful, mischievous personality hiding behind that polished performance.
Milan is the definition of grace, talent, and ridability making him a standout in the Hunter and Equitation rings. Owned by the Hamilton family, he has been part of the Dragonfly team since he arrived from Holland as a four-year-old, carefully developed into the polished competitor he is today. With his soft, kind demeanor and effortless way of going, he naturally catches the judges’ eye, and he made a statement early on by winning his first-ever Hunter Derby as well as consistently holding the top of the leader board in both the hunter and jumper arenas throughout his career. A true professional in the making, Milan continues to grow into his potential, and we’re excited to see where his journey takes him.

Chacco is a horse of contrasts—an absolute powerhouse under saddle, yet the most soulful and gentle presence on the ground. His raw talent is undeniable, with an engine and athleticism that make him a thrill to ride, but his natural drive and intensity can make him a challenge. Beneath that strength and complexity, though, his true character shines through. Wise beyond his years, soft-eyed, and deeply intuitive, Chacco isn’t just a horse you ride—he’s one you build a relationship with, earning his trust step by step.
Chacco is a powerhouse of talent with an impressive record overseas, having competed up to 1.45m. His natural ability and explosive jump make him a serious athlete, but beneath all that scope, he’s a sensitive soul. Now owned by the Legroulx family, Chacco was brought to Dragonfly as a special partner for Richelle—a horse with all the ability in the world but needing the right program to rebuild his confidence in the show ring. With patience, trust, and the right ride, he’s proving that his best chapters are still ahead.

Teacup carries herself with quiet confidence, fully aware of just how talented she is. She doesn’t need to prove herself—she knows she’s exceptional. Fiercely competitive, she rises to any challenge, and if she’s in the ring, she’s there to win. But despite her fire and determination, she is the most reliable and trustworthy horse on the farm. She’s the one kids learn to groom, pick hooves, and tack up for the first time, standing patiently as they figure it all out. When she’s not in the show ring, she can often be found being led around by a tiny child, carefully matching their steps, never pulling or stepping out of line. Whether she’s flying around a jump-off or gently babysitting her smallest riders, Teacup does it all with grace, kindness, and an unshakable sense of purpose.
Teacup may be a pony, but she’s got the heart of a lion. Competing against full-sized horses, she dominated the 1.10m ring, proving nearly unbeatable with her ability to turn on a dime and gallop through tracks that bigger horses couldn’t manage. Her competitive fire made her a force to be reckoned with, and even now, she’s still a lot of horse for most young riders. But what makes Teacup truly special is her deep understanding of her job—while she’s bold and electric under a skilled rider, she has an incredible ability to sense when her rider is small or nervous, adjusting her pace with patience and care. Whether she’s teaching kids the art of show jumping or giving someone their very first ride in the Unicorn Club, Teacup brings her signature mix of power, heart, and kindness to everything she does.

Sevriano knows exactly who he is—a true Hunter through and through, with just the right amount of ego to match his talent. He carries himself with quiet arrogance, always expecting to be admired, and he certainly isn’t one to beg for attention. High maintenance? Maybe a little—but only because he knows he deserves the best. While he isn’t the type to dole out affection freely, he forms deep bonds with those who earn his trust, offering quiet moments of connection to his chosen people. Confident, polished, and always a little particular, Sevriano is every bit the refined show horse he was born to be.
Sevriano is a true class act, graciously lent to us by his owner, Emily, who has loved and cherished him for years. With a highly successful Hunter career, he has competed up to the 3’6” divisions and excelled in the derby ring, always showcasing his elegance and textbook jump. Now, he brings that same quality to Dragonfly, helping riders at every stage—whether they’re just starting out or stepping into the show ring for the first time. With his steady nature and incredible experience, Sevriano gives his riders the confidence to grow, making him an invaluable part of our team.

Vincent is all business, but he is also a patient teacher. He knows his job inside and out and expects his riders to show up ready to work, but he meets them where they are, giving them the time and guidance to figure things out. Precise and focused, he doesn’t have much of a sense of humor—he likes to get things right and doesn’t see the point in unnecessary mistakes. But despite his serious nature, he is kind and steady, offering his riders confidence and experience without ever being unfair. For those willing to listen and learn, Vincent is the ultimate partner—honest, skilled, and always willing to help his rider rise to the occasion.
Vincent is the definition of class and experience. Imported from England as a young horse, he built an impressive record up to the 1.45m level, proving himself as both a talented jumper and a polished equitation horse. Now, he brings that depth of knowledge to Dragonfly, giving our more experienced riders the opportunity to develop their skills on a horse with real substance. With his scope, style, and steady presence, Vincent is the kind of horse every rider dreams of sitting on, and we’re incredibly lucky to have him as part of the team.
Queenie may be a steady and reliable teacher, but make no mistake—she’s also a total diva. She knows her worth and carries herself with the confidence of a horse who understands just how important she is. Dainty and elegant, she moves with a graceful air, always presenting herself like a true lady. While she is endlessly patient with the kids, she also enjoys a bit of admiration, happily soaking up the attention she knows she deserves. Queenie isn’t just a lesson horse—she’s royalty, and she makes sure everyone knows it.
Queenie is the definition of a master at her craft. With years of experience and an unmatched sense of patience, she carefully guides our youngest riders from their very first ride to their first time cantering a course. She knows exactly how to build confidence, teaching each rider at their own pace while always keeping them safe. Well-known in the show ring, Queenie is a true professional who knows her job inside and out. Whether she’s trotting quietly with a beginner or stepping into the show arena, she carries herself with the steady confidence of a horse who has done it all.

Cabrio is the definition of a classic gelding—goofy, playful, and just a little bit lazy. He’s always up for a good game with his paddock neighbours, finding endless entertainment in nibbling on blankets or tossing around whatever he can get his teeth on. Despite his substantial size, he has a lighthearted, humorous nature that makes him a barn favorite. While he’ll happily put in the work under saddle, he’s also the king of taking his time when he thinks he can get away with it. With his easygoing attitude and charming personality, Cabrio brings a little extra fun to every day at the farm.
Cabrio came to us as a sales horse five years ago, but some horses are just too special to let go. A true gentle giant, he has effortless movement and a straightforward, kind demeanor that makes him a dream to ride. With his substantial size and steady nature, he’s the perfect match for many of our adult and male riders, giving them a confident and comfortable start in the saddle. His simple, can-do attitude helps riders progress quickly, making everything feel easy. While he hasn’t spent much time in the show ring, when he finally got his chance last year, he stepped into the Grand Hunter course and jumped around like he had been doing it his whole life—proving that no matter where he goes, he always rises to the occasion.

Johnny Cash is all fire and attitude—a raw, untrained ball of energy just waiting for his moment. Bred to be a top-level athlete, he has no concept of patience and no interest in waiting for his turn. He charges through life full steam ahead, leaping, bucking, and playing with no regard for personal space. If you’re in his way, you’d better move, because Johnny doesn’t believe in standing still. He’s bold, mouthy, and completely untamed, not out of malice but because he’s brimming with talent and has nowhere to put it—yet. The moment he’s old enough to step into a real job, he’ll be ready, and knowing Johnny, he won’t just rise to the challenge—he’ll charge at it full speed.
Johnny Cash is a miracle in every sense of the word. The youngest horse on the farm, he is out of Richelle’s beloved competition mare, Firenze—a mare who defied all odds to bring him into the world. After tragically losing her first foal and barely surviving herself, Firenze’s future as a broodmare seemed impossible. But against all expectations, she recovered, carried Johnny to term, and gifted us this extraordinary colt. When we later tried to rebreed her, we discovered she could no longer carry a pregnancy, making Johnny even more special. Full of cheek and character, he is bursting with energy and personality, always keeping us on our toes. With his natural athleticism and undeniable presence, we have every hope that he will rise to the highest levels of the sport—and knowing him, he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Firenze is a study in contrasts—small but powerful, fiery but gentle, bold yet deeply kind. In the ring, she’s quick and fearless, always ready to take on a challenge with the heart of a true competitor. But on the ground, she is something else entirely—soft, soulful, and full of quiet wisdom. She carries herself with a calm presence, always aware, always listening. As a mother, she was pure love—patient, protective, and completely devoted to Johnny. She gave him everything, just as she has always given her all to the people who love her. Firenze isn’t just a horse you ride—she’s a horse you feel in your heart.
Firenze is all business—a fierce competitor with a serious work ethic and a love for the game. Imported from Holland as a seven-year-old, she climbed the ranks to the 1.35m ring, where she thrived on competition and the challenge of the sport. But her biggest fight came outside the ring. After losing her first foal, she almost lost her life along with him. But Firenze isn’t the type to quit. Day by day, she pulled through, eventually making a comeback to the 1.20m ring with Richelle. Then came Johnny Cash, her miracle baby, and everything changed. She took to motherhood with the same intensity she brought to competition—protective, devoted, and completely in love. While she won’t carry another foal, she’s not done working. Now, she’s stepping into a new role, teaching riders the ropes and showing them what it means to love the sport as much as she does.

Elliot has the sweetest, most easygoing personality—he’s never in a rush, never in a fuss, and always happy to take his time. More often than not, he can be found leisurely strolling behind a small child leading him, completely unbothered by the hustle and bustle around him. While he may be on the slower side of life, he’s never dull or sour—just patient, thoughtful, and always tuned in to the people around him. But don’t let his laid-back nature fool you—when it’s time to step into the show ring, Elliot knows exactly how to turn it on, proving that even the most relaxed ponies can rise to the occasion when it counts.
Elliot needs little introduction—he has been the backbone of our lesson program for over seven years. The most reliable school horse in the barn, he has safely guided countless riders through their first lessons, first jumps, and first moments of true confidence in the saddle. Steady, patient, and endlessly kind, Elliot has never spooked or refused a fence, making him the ultimate partner for nervous riders finding their footing. No matter who is on his back, he gives them the reassurance they need to carry on, proving time and time again that there’s no better teacher than a pony like Elliot.

Shatzy may be the heart of our lesson program, but she definitely has her opinions. A bit of a diva on the ground, she likes things done her way and doesn’t mind letting you know when you’ve missed the mark. She’s not one for excessive fuss or unnecessary affection, but she’s always well-mannered and professional—just with a little extra attitude. Under saddle, though, she never falters. No matter who is on her back, she is steady, patient, and completely reliable, making her the ultimate teacher. She may have her quirks, but Shatzy’s dedication to her job is unmatched, and that’s what makes her truly special.
Shatzy is the matriarch of our farm, the foundation of our lesson program, and the horse behind countless riding careers. She has started more riders than any other horse at Dragonfly, patiently guiding them from their very first steps in the saddle to their first canter, first jumps, and beyond. Many of her riders have gone on to top equitation and Grand Prix levels, but it all began with Shatzy’s steady presence and unwavering reliability. As dependable as the day is long, she takes her job seriously, ensuring that every rider gets the right start. There are school horses, and then there are legends—and Shatzy is, without a doubt, the latter.

Dexter is the epitome of a pony with attitude—cheeky, opinionated, and just the right amount of naughty. He has a way of keeping everyone on their toes, always finding little ways to do things on his own terms. But his mischief is all part of his charm—he’s never mean, just endlessly entertaining. Whether it’s sneaking a snack when no one’s looking or adding a little extra personality to a lesson, Dexter has a way of making people laugh. His playful spirit, combined with his patience for beginners, makes him a barn favorite and a pony no one ever forgets.
Dexter has been a beloved part of our program for the past five years, generously shared with us by his owner, Kelsey. A true beginner’s best friend, he has given countless kids their first canter and is a staple in our camps and introductory lessons. With his cool markings and adorable looks, he’s always a barn favorite—his riders can’t help but fall in love with him.
